Our Commitments to Hiddur

At the Kish'rey Tefillin Educational Center, we combine both things - Tefillin and experience.

Since Rabbi Menachem's two greatest loves are the love of the Jewish community and the love of education, It is important for him to combine both - high-level tefillin and a meaningful and connecting experience. Over a decade of study in a high yeshiva, and personal acquaintance with professionals, provide the basis for halakhic enrichment. Over a decade of educational work in yeshiva and various settings, provides the basis for experiential enrichment. When we hear "How I can't wait to put on the tefillin," or receive a phone call in which the mother says that her son wants to start putting on his fancy tefillin early, before "he needs to," we feel that we have succeeded in our goal - to connect the boy to the commandment of tefillin.

What a thrill it is to know that he is placing the tefillin, and you are the ones who brought their parshiot into the houses, and sewed them!

How much are we willing to invest in our son putting on the tefillin, every day, with joy?

This is exactly the purpose of the tefillin experience. The tefillin experience is a powerful and connecting experience that will accompany your son throughout his life.

In the tefillin experience:

Holding tefillin houses in various stages of preparation
Run the Bidarat Satam program on your computer
Experimenting with writing on parchment with quill and ink
Reading the verses of your tefillin
Towards the end of the experience, you, the father (and grandfather), put the tefillin sections into the houses and sew them up.

How did the tefillin experience at the center come about?

The experience was born through the experience with Rabbi Menachem's eldest son, when he reached his Bar Mitzvah, and the first to receive it was his second son.

You too are a partner in making your own Torah scroll!

Writing a Torah scroll is a great mitzvah, usually performed once in a lifetime.

We see great importance in your participation in the process of writing the Torah scroll.

Bar Mitzvah event with tefillin ties

When we arrive at your Bar Mitzvah event, each guest is personally introduced to the tefillin.

You hold open tefillin houses, observe tefillin parshiot, experiment with writing (subject to the hall's consent), are exposed to the testing software, and more...

A Bar Mitzvah event includes a meeting with a Sofer Satam, an educator, allowing you to dive into the world of Satam in a fascinating and enjoyable way.

The activity is accompanied by a presentation.

*When combining the purchase of tefillin and a personal experience with a Bar Mitzvah event, the Bar Mitzvah boy participates in conducting the workshop. When the Bar Mitzvah boy conducts (jointly with the professional, who is also an educator) a workshop for guests out of knowledge and confidence, he is empowered, and connects to the tefillin in a deep connection. The workshop is also suitable for the first putting on of tefillin, for a Bar Mitzvah with friends, and for a Bar Mitzvah trip.
