What Makes Us Unique?

At the Kish'rey Tefillin Educational Center, we believe in excellence without compromise — both in the Halachic quality of the Tefillin and the depth of the experience.

Our center was founded by Rabbi Menachem, whose life’s work is driven by two great passions:
the sacred art of Safrut (scribal arts) and the world of education.

By bridging these two worlds, we provide more than just Tefillin — we offer a meaningful, lifelong connection to the Mitzvah.

Rabbi Menachem brings these two loves together in every step of his work: Tefillin crafted to the highest Halachic standards, offered through an experience that is personal, memorable, and deeply connecting.

With over a decade of advanced Torah study in leading yeshivot, and close relationships with Sofrim and Halachic experts, Rabbi Menachem ensures that every detail meets the highest level of Halachic precision.

At the same time, his 10+ years in education — teaching and mentoring in Yeshivot and diverse educational settings — add warmth, heart, and insight to the entire process.

Rabbi Menachem shares why a personal, meaningful experience is just as important as Halachic excellence in the Mitzvah of Tefillin:

“The first time someone experiences something, and especially a Mitzvah,
shapes how they relate to it moving forward.
If a child’s first taste of orange-colored food is sweet and delicious,
they’ll want more. But if it’s bitter and unpleasant,
it’ll take a lot to convince them to try again.
The same goes for Mitzvot.
The more positive, joyful, and sweet the experience,
the more loving and lasting the connection will be.”

Our Mission

That’s why we do everything we can to make sure a young man’s first encounter with his Tefillin is filled with excitement, curiosity, and joy. We create an environment where the Bar Mitzvah boy can truly connect — not just with the Tefillin, but with the Mitzvah behind them.

Through a hands-on, meaningful experience, he can:

  • Understand & Inquire – Asking the “why” and the “how” of this ancient Mitzvah.
  • Observe & Listen – Learning directly from experienced Sofrim and teachers.
  • Touch & Feel – Handling the sacred materials, forming a personal bond with them.

Our goal is simple and heartfelt:

To light a spark — a spark that will stay with him every single morning, for the rest of his life.
